Curious About A Bikini Wax?
Don’t worry—feeling a bit nervous for your first intimate wax is completely normal! Rest assured, I’m here to guide you through every step, ensuring a comfortable and smooth experience. Here’s everything you need to know before your appointment.

Preparation
– Hair Length: Make sure you have about 2-3 weeks of hair growth before your appointment. The longer, the better, and no, it’s not embarrassing! This ensures the wax can effectively remove hair from the root, giving you longer-lasting results.
– Exfoliate: A day or two before your appointment, gently exfoliate the area to remove any dead skin cells. This helps prevent ingrown hairs and allows for a more effective wax. You can use a rough washcloth, exfoliating mitt, or a scrub for this.
– Avoid Moisturizers and Oils: On the day of your wax, skip the lotion and oils in the bikini area. This helps the wax adhere better to your hair.
What to Expect:
– Consultation: When you arrive, we’ll start with a brief consultation to discuss your preferences, and I’ll review the waxing form you filled out via email. We’ll also go over any concerns you might have. Clear communication is important to me, and my goal is to ensure you feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire process.
– The Waxing Process: For the waxing itself, I use top-quality hard wax from the brand Ezee, which is specially formulated for even the most sensitive areas. The process is quick, and I’ll guide you through each step. If at any point you need a break, just let me know. The actual waxing typically takes only 7-10 minutes—trust me, it’s not as daunting as it may seem.
– Right After: After we’re done, I’ll give you detailed aftercare instructions and a sample of aftercare oil to soothe your skin and prevent irritation. We’ll also schedule your next appointment, as most clients book one to two months in advance, so let’s secure the time that works best for you! And don’t forget to celebrate—you did it!
After Care:
– Moisturizing: I recommend using an ingrown hair serum or oil daily at home to keep your skin well-hydrated and help prevent ingrown hairs. I offer a high-quality ingrown hair serum/oil from the brand FUR, which is available for purchase at the spa.
– Exfoliate Regularly: A few days after your wax, you can begin gently exfoliating the area. Exfoliating 2-3 times a week will remove dead skin cells and help prevent ingrown hairs. I have body scrubs and exfoliating mitts that are safe for the bikini area available in the spa.
– Plan Your Next Appointment: To maintain smooth skin and make future waxing more comfortable, it’s best to schedule your next appointment every 4-6 weeks. Regular waxing ensures that all your hair can be removed at the same growth stage, leading to maximum smoothness. It may take 2-3 appointments to achieve this, but with each session, your hair will become thinner and the process less painful—yay!

Keep In Mind
Our skin is most sensitive immediately after a wax, so it’s crucial to plan ahead. For the first 24-48 hours, it’s best to avoid touching the area or engaging in any sexual activity. Steer clear of hot showers, baths, hot tubs, pools, or saunas. Refrain from tanning, sunbathing, or using fake tans during this time. Additionally, avoid anything that could introduce bacteria to the freshly waxed skin, like a workout.
Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get waxed during my period? Yes, you can get waxed during your period, but you need to wear a clean tampon or menstrual cup during the appointment. This helps keep things as sanitary as possible. Keep in mind that you may be a tad more sensitive around this time, so plan ahead if you can.
How long should my hair be for a Brazilian wax? The ideal hair length is about 1/4 inch (about the length of a grain of rice). If the hair is too short, the wax may not be able to grab onto it.
My hair is longer than 1/4 inch, should I trim or shave? Please don’t! While it might seem helpful to trim, it can actually disrupt the hair growth cycle and may result in cutting the hair too short, which can lead to less effective results. I chose this profession because I love it, and it’s my job to take care of the area. If needed, I can trim the hair during the service. However, the longer the hair, the better the results—we want it to adhere well to the wax!
How long will the results last? The results typically last about 3 to 4 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle. With regular waxing, hair growth may slow down and become finer over time.
Will it hurt? Pain levels vary depending on individual tolerance, but some discomfort is normal, especially if it’s your first time or if you haven’t been waxed in a while. The pain usually decreases with regular waxing. Tip, avoid caffeine or alcohol on the day of your wax as they can make you more sensitive. You can take an over-the-counter pain reliever about 30 minutes before your appointment to reduce discomfort if need be.
What should I wear? Loose-fitting clothes are always more comfortable after a wax, as tight clothing can cause friction on freshly waxed skin. However, there’s no specific dress code—just come as you are. You can always change into something more comfortable when you get home if needed.
Can I get waxed if I’m using retinoids or other skin treatments? It’s usually advised to avoid waxing if you’re using topical retinoids, Accutane, or other potent exfoliants, as these can increase skin sensitivity and the risk of tearing or irritation. When you book your appointment, you’ll be asked to fill out a waxing form that includes a list of medications that are not recommended for waxing.
I just had a baby, when can I resume waxing?
You can return for waxing once you’re fully healed. You’ll always be welcomed back, no matter how long that takes. Once your doctor gives you the green light, we’re ready to go!
